Overview of the RSA Wilton Driving Test Centre
- The Wilton driving test centre (one of two test centres in the city) is located in the Doughcloyne Industrial Estate, off the Sarsfield Road, Wilton.
- The second test centre (Ballincollig) only deals with heavy goods vehicles and buses.
- As with all test centres arrive in good time (at least 10 minutes early) and reverse park within the white lines.

Traffic at this test centre can be an issue, especially if your test is scheduled between 4pm and 6pm. As we have come to expect there are a good range of routes available to each driving tester. However there are many roundabouts in the vicinity and you will be asked to negotiate at least three or four of them. Some are relatively straightforward but there are one or two (especially the Wilton roundabout) where position and lane selection are quite tricky if you aren’t familiar with them. We will of course give you all the help and guidance you need. The reverse around the corner behind Dunnes (perhaps the most used spot) is renowned for being difficult. With our tips you will sail through it. The hill start is often carried out behind the Togher Lidl. All aspects of the test and routes will be fully explained to you by our expert instructors.
